Mr. Albert W. Jenkins

Albert W. Jenkins was born February 17, 1943 in Valdosta, GA, to the late Jack Jenkins and the late Dorothy Williams.

Albert transitioned to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 7, 2017.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter: Doreen Witherspoon and one brother-in-law: Donnie Ponder.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife: Gloria J. Jenkins. Through this union, five children were added who will miss him dearly. Remaining to remember their father’s love are Jacqueline Willis, Angela Jenkins, Sabrina Marshall; son-in-law: Harold T. Marshall and Alton Jenkins; a special daughter: Janet Jones; fourteen loving grandchildren whom he adored: Randy Ponder (Monique), Marlin Beaufort, Marvin Beaufort, Dorothy Marshall (Cornelius), Gloria Witherspoon, Donna Witherspoon, Tyree Bridges, Paris Jenkins, Aja Jenkins, Shaquan Lopez (Charles), Tynesha Jenkins, Treyon Jenkins, Javon Jenkins and Albany Broadway; nineteen great-grandchildren; one special sister-in-law: Faye Thompson; one special aunt: Doris Mathis; three special nieces: Dorothy Latonia Thomas (Tim), Lonetta Bailey (Eddie) and Cassandra Stanford (Rome); one special cousin: Betty Tooley (Bishop John, Sr.); two living aunts: Rosetta Mathis and Betty Seawright; and one living uncle: Willie James Mathis (Pearl).

Albert was the oldest of ten children. He was loved and will be missed by his nine siblings: Frankie Lee McCullion (Sylvester), Harry Lee Brown (Charlene), Brenda Moore, Patricia Chandler, Emma Moore (Johnny), Rose Williams (Greg), Bobby Seawright (Angela), Pearlene Davis (Irvin), and Hardy Lee Seawright, Jr. (Debbie).

Albert leaves behind his sisters and brothers-in-law: Mango Ponder (Molly), Margaret Rowe (Marshall), Peggy Penny (Jhunder), Mattie Bell O’Neal, Ronnie Ponder (Martha), Lavon Wims (Cassandra), Bruce Campbell (Angela), and Sylvia Wiseman (Oscar). He also leaves behind two close friends: Mae and Eddie Koonce; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly and a pile of uncaught happy fish!

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Albert Jenkins will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00am in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Pastor Harold T. Marshall will officiate.

Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
