Annie Jean Preaster

It is with deepest sympathy Godfrey Funeral Home announces Ms. Annie Jean Preaster, age 74.

Ms. Annie Jean Preaster was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on Febuary 14, 1948, to Mr. & Mrs. Adverse Ponder, Sr. (both deceased).  She departed this life on Friday, March 11, 2022.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Royce Ponder, her sister, Joyce Ponder-Dantzler and her brother, Ralph Ponder.

Ms. Preaster attended school in Valdosta, Lowndes County, GA, obtaining a High School Diploma from West Side School and a Nursing Assistant Certificate from Valdosta Technical School.  During the course of her career, she became an Entrepreneur in the Cleaning Services Industry (Residential & Commercial).  It is this Industry that she later retired from.

Ms. Preaster was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Pine Grove Congregation, in Valdosta, GA.

To cherish the memories of her, she leaves behind three (3) sisters and two (2) brothers-in-law:  Rev. & Mrs. Arthur & Mary Jones, Rev. & Mrs. Roosevelt & Ella Mae Graham (both are Elders) and Ms. Lee Ponder-Patterson; three (3) brothers:  Mack Arthur Ponder, Adverse Ponder, Jr. and Alvin Ponder; several nieces and nephews and dozens of cousins and close friends.

The Memorial service for the late Ms. Annie Jean Preaster will be Saturday, March 19, 2022, 2:00 p.m., via ZOOM .
