Arthur Lee Sherman, age 70, was born October 10, 1944 in Brownsville, PA, to the late Arthur James Sherman and the late Annie Thomas Sherman. He was the seventh of ten children.
He entered the United States Air Force in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1975 with many service decorations. Arthur was a hard working-dedicated family man who provided for his family whom he loved very much. Not only did he proudly serve his country, he served the Lord. He was a faithful member of West Hill Church of Christ and served there until his health failed him. He will be missed by all who knew him. Now he’s done with the troubles, pain and suffering of this world. He is in God’s hands.
On Monday, July 20, 2015, the Lord spoke: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his wife whom he loved dearly: Annie Lois Sherman; five sisters: Mary L. Sizemore, Anna E. Harrell, Carol L. Sherman, Nona M. Green and Ardry Sherman; and one brother: James W. Thomas.
Left to cherish Arthur’s memories and his love is his son: Henry B. Sherman (Chevon) of Caledonia, MS; his daughter: Dora S. Ferguson (Alonza) of Rocky Mount, NC; one sister: Harriett Y. Embry of Detroit, MI; one brother: Henry L. Sherman of Valdosta, GA; a devoted sister in-law: Mary Wiseman; three devoted nieces: Angela Watts, Kelly Cook and Angela Cook; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters in-law; four brothers in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
