Bertha Cassandra Graham

Bertha Cassandra Graham was born October 20, 1952 in Nankin, Georgia to the late Lula Jones Martin and the late Lewis Peak, Sr.


Bertha was a woman filled with love, patience, kindness and goodness. Recognizing her ability to relate well with people, she knew that working in the medical was indeed her calling. With a gentle and loving spirit, she was a caregiver in the healthcare industry and served as a Pink Lady for over ten years where she extended her hands in loving service.


Bertha was a giver of herself, not only to her family and in her community, but to the many children she fostered as a Classroom Grandparent where she offered her strength and guidance. She was also a avid supporter of the American Aids Foundation.


On Thursday, November 17, 2016 the declared “Servant well done...Take thy rest.”


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Frank Graham and one brother: William Martin, Sr.


Bertha leaves her legacy of love to her four sons whom she adored: Calvin Jones of Valdosta, GA, William “Skip” Jones (Brandy) of Lake Park, GA, Miller West of Lakeland, GA, and Ben “Bo-Gator/Breed" Sims of Valdosta, GA; eight grandchildren: Calvin Jr, Camron, Dorian, Xavier, Jay, William Jr, Deiona, and Thalia; one great grandchild: Alexis; three sisters: Henrietta “Hen” Gamble, Rita Barkley, and Retha Wells, all of Homerville, GA; a special cousin: Ida Brown; one god-sister: Katherine Edmond; a special friend: Gloria J. Phillips; her Pink Ladies family of South Georgia Medical Center, the Foster Grandparents of W.G. Nunn; and a host of family and friends.


The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Bertha Cassandra Graham will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00pm from the sanctuary of Restoration Fellowship Church.

Pastor Timothy Riser will officiate.

Public viewing will be held Monday, November 21 from 10:00am - 8:00pm in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.
