Sis. Bettye Mae Green Rembert departed this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Green of St. Augustine, FL.
She received her education in the St. Johns public school system, graduating from Excelslor High School. She attended Miami Dade Community College. She was employed by the Dade County School Board for 25 years and retired January 31, 1992.
She was joined in holy matrimony December 26, 1951 to Bro. Thomas J. Rembert. This marriage was blessed with three children (one son and two daughters).
Sis. Rembert joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church in 2010 where she faithfully attended and supported Bible Study, Prayer Meeting and the Women’s Ministry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandmother: Mary Wilson, three brothers: Oscar Henderson, Henry Green and Richard Green; and one sister in-law: Julia Rembert.
Sis. Rembert is survived by her husband: Thomas J. Rembert; one son: Kenneth Bernard Rembert of New York City; two daughters: Audrey Rene of Dallas, TX and Valerie R. Arnold (Melvin) of Valdosta, GA; one grandson: Kenneth Bernard Rembert Jr. of New York City; one sister: Almeta Davis of Gary, IN; two brothers: David Green and Peter Green of Tampa, FL; two brothers in-law: Walter Rembert and Earl Rembert, both of St. Augustine, FL; special cousins: Rose Lyons, John Lyons and Deloris Washington; special friends: Joseph and Leola Canada; and a host of relatives and friends.
The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Betty Green Rembert will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Rev. George W. Blunt will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.
