Mrs. Beverly “Belle” Edmondson Cox was born October 25, 1971 to Gloria and Joseph Edmondson. She departed this life Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
She was of the Christian faith and believed Jesus to be her Lord and Savior. Beverly, fondly called “Belle”, attended Valdosta City School System and was a 1989 graduate of Valdosta High School. Belle worked various jobs throughout her working life, mainly as a Cashier Customer Service Specialist.
Belle married Michael L. Cox in 1991. Their loving and supported union lasted for over 22 years until his death in 2011. Although Belle and Mike did not have any children of their own, they were parents and played a major role in the life of their niece and nephew, Jasmine and Raykwon Jakes of Darlington, SC. They were also loving and caring pet parents to their special companion Pudge Cox and many other pets.
After moving to Florence, SC, God brought Patricia Thompson (Belle’s best friend) and her family into her life to love, care and support her when she needed it most. Belle considered Pat and her family as her family away from home. They had a strong and loving relationship.
In addition to her husband, Michael, Belle is preceded in death by her grandparents: Lamar Wright, Sr., Bud and Sarah Edmondson.
Left to celebrate her life and to cherish memories are her parents: Gloria Jean Wright Edmondson, Joseph Simon Edmondson and Luther Henry Jacobs: her three sisters: Rhonda Maxwell (Bruce), Tracey Omotaya (Ola) and Erica Edmondson; two brothers: Anthony Edmondson (Christina) and Gregory Edmonson; her grandmother: Pearlie Mae Wright-Patterson; a very special friend and caretaker: Ms. Patricia Thompson, special companion pet, Pudge Cox; and a host of loving and caring aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
