Mr. Butch Sims

Butch Sims was born to Lovette L. Sims and the late Roscoe Francis, December 24, 1956 in Adel, GA.

He received his education in the Cook County School System and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army from 1976-1989.

Butch, affectionately called “Butchie Boy” by his family was quite charming. He had charisma and “swag”. Butch believed there was nothing like a well-dressed man. He loved his family and was very protective of them. Butch could be very outspoken at times. One of his favorite sayings was, “you can do what you wanna do...but here’s my opinion.” Indeed, Butch was his own man.

Surrounded by his loving family, the Lord granted Butch eternal rest Monday, October 6, 2014.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. John Ray, Mrs. Estella Ray, Mr. S.T. Francis and Mrs. Bessie Mae Francis; and two brothers: Dennis Sims and Kenneth White.
Butch leaves to cherish his memories four children: Chrishia Wilson of Miami, FL, Lafayette Bryant (April) of Baltimore, MD, Christopher Sims of Valdosta, GA and Jeremiah Sims of NJ; seven sisters: Janice Sims Walker of Hahira, GA; Sharon Payne (Charlie Jr.) of Tifton, GA, Janice Franics of Lenox, GA, Kathy Kinchen (Norvell), Lequitta Sims, Kim Wynn (John), and Angela Sims all of Valdosta, GA; seven brothers: Rossie Francis (Viola) of Gulfport, MS, Ronnie Francis (Tonda) of Stone Mountain, GA, Nelson Sims (Cassandra) and Dean Sims of Sparks, GA, Charles Sims (Wendy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Louis Sims (Tania) of Winter Haven, FL and Robert Brown (Barbara) of Byron, GA; two aunts: Hattie Bell Smith and Johnnie Mae Jenkins of Sparks, GA; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Butch Sims will be held Saturday at 3pm from the sanctuary of Pentecost House of Prayer.

Apostle Kathy Kinchen is the pastor.

Pastor Rossie Francis will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sparks Cemetery in Sparks, GA.
