Carstell Parker was born on May 11, 1942 to the late Mr. Charlie Parker and Mrs. Carrie Parker Outlaw. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Carstell was educated in the Atkinson County School System, from there he began driving trucks as a career for forty five years. In 1963, he married the late Rossie L. Harris Parker, to this union nine children were born.
His last place of employment was Georgia Petroleum Inc. When not working and spending time with his family, Carstell could be found at his favorite place, The Waffle House.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters: Lorene Miller, Carrie Mae Parker, Alberta Neloms, Pearlene Fulton and Charleen Taylor and one brother: Hemmie Parker.
Carstell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Marsha D. Parker; nine children: Shirley Wilson, Donnell Parker and Clinton (LaQuanda) Parker of Valdosta, GA, Apostle Anthony (Sueran) Parker, Cynthia Parker, Gwendolyn Parker and Kendall (Simone) Parker of Burlington, NJ, Reginald (Laura) Parker of Langhorne, PA and Aliscia (Eric) Lundy of Riverside, NJ; mother in-law: Marilyn Johnson; three step-children: Sharee Williams, Tonya (Eric) Robinson and Kim Thompson of Valdosta, GA; three sisters: Burnell (Charles) James, Magalene (Samuel) Brown of Valdosta, GA and Myrdes Sallet of Waycross, GA; three brothers: Frank (Warnelle) Parker of Quitman, GA, Johnny B. Parker and Billy Joe (Lee) Parker of Valdosta, GA; one aunt: Juanita Eason; one great-aunt: Eloise Mann; one great-uncle: Coleman McCrae; one brother in-law: Roger (Mary) Johnson; five sisters in-law: Delores B. Smith, Leroyce (Johnell) Daniels, Karen (Derrick) Rose, Virginia (Rev. Kevin) Reddick, and Michelle (Michael) Brown; three special sisters in-law: Ethel Harris, Cynthia Harris and Shirley Goss; a special niece: Sonia Harris McCloud; a special daughter: Tina Bressant; two special friends: Dale Parker and William Holland; forty-one grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of sorrowing family and friends.
The homegoing celebration will be held Sunday, October 23, at 3:00pm from the sanctuary of Serenity Christian Church. Senior Servant Floyd Rose is the pastor. Elder Wonelle Parker will officate.
Interment will follow at the North End Cemetery in Quitman, GA.
