Cassandra Miller Carter , was born on September 26, 1972 in Quitman, Ga., to the late Willie C. Miller Sr. and late Lorene Parker Miller.
She received her education in the Valdosta City School System and was a graduate of the Valdosta High School Class of 1991. A few years later, Cassandra met and married Terry Carter, Sr. To this union were born two beautiful children, Teaonna and Terry.
Cassandra decided to better herself by continuing her education and enrolled at Valdosta Technical College. As time passed on, duty called and Cassandra made the decision to proudly serve her country by enlisting in the United States Navy where she was stationed at Norfolk Naval Station in Virginia. After her military service, she returned to Valdosta and became employed at ADM. Having a need to become a part of something greater, she became a member of the Holiness Temple of Praise Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Glanton in Valdosta, GA. At a later time, Cassandra relocated to Atlanta, GA and then to Miami, FL and became an employee at the University of Miami. She continued her education and enrolled into the medical program to become a Registered Nurse.
On Thursday, March 5, 2020, Cassandra received her final orders and was called to a place of eternal rest from her earthly journey.
In addition to her parents, Cassandra is preceded in death by her grandparents: Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Carrie Parker; one sister: Christine Harris; and two brothers: Darrell Miller and Willie C. Miller, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her two children: Teaonna Carter of Valdosta, GA and Terry Carter, Jr. of Miami, FL; two grandchildren: Bishop Haze Carter, and Isabella Marie Carter; her significant other: Mr. Tommy Taylor of Miami FL; five sisters: Stephanie (Michael) Glanton, Alicia (Yves) Nocent, Trascia (Donald) Alexander, Carolyn Miller, all of Valdosta, Ga., and Cheryl Miller of Madison, FL; three brothers: Clarence Miller of Portland, Oregon; and Robert and Stephan Miller both of Valdosta, GA.; special friends: Michelle Greene, Pauline Suero, Roslyn Lewis, Wanda Vest, Jody and Cynthia Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Celebration of Life for the late Cassandra Miller Carter will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 10:30 a.m. from the sanctuary of Joyful Sound International Ministry, 1994 Briarwood Road, Valdosta, GA.
Pastor Michael Glanton will officiate. Senior Pastor is Dr. Julia Grant Berry.
