Early Tuesday morning, December 22, 2020, calmness and softness surrounded the air of a bedroom and slowly moved downward with serenity and rendered the illuminating spirit of Ms. Curley Clemons Bradley to a place of peace and eternal rest in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Curley was born November 14, 1948, to the late Abraham Clemons, Sr. and the late Beatrice Bryd in Jacksonville, Florida. She was raised by her grandmother, the late Betty Pittman Reece Clemons in Valdosta, Georgia.
Curley was a proud graduate of Westside High School known as the home of the marching Braves. She received Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Clyattville, GA, where she sang in the choir. Curley was a faithful employee of Levi Strauss for many years. She had an accomplished and phenomenal talent for sewing and upholstery and was employed as a seamstress for many years. She was always willing to provide her services for family and friends.
She was a loving and dedicated mother to five daughters and two sons. Curley relocated to live with several of her children in Kansas, Warner Robins, Atlanta, and Virginia to assist with taking care of her beautiful grandchildren. Curley returned to Clyattville to live and to attend worship services at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and she later relocated to Lake Park, GA. In her latter years, Curley’s children took great care of their mother during her illness.
Curley was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who was dedicated to her family. She was often called Curley Ann by family and friends. Her love, grace, gratitude and strength has enriched everyone who knew her. Curley’s beautiful smile would easily illuminate a room. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, other relatives and friends.
