Daisy Lee Phillips, was born August 22, 1931 to the late Frank Rockamore and Aslean Phelps in Taylor County, Georgia.
Daisy received her education in the public school system. She met and married the late John “Boy” Phillips and to this union eleven children were born. Daisy supported her family, and her children, arise up and call her blessed, she was a special jewel. Recognizing, she needed a Savior, Daisy surrendered her life to Christ and became a member of St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church where she served as church secretary until her health failed.
Daisy enjoyed embroidering, cooking, working in the yard and the Dallas Cowboys! A nice cold coke and a warm smile was her trademark.The Lord called Daisy from labor to reward, Monday, March 10, 2014.
In addition to her parents and her husband, John “Boy” Phillips, she is preceded in death by two sisters: Alice Lockhart and Dollie C. Griffin and one brother: J.C. Rockamore.
She leaves to cherish memories eleven children: Katie Wilson (Obediah), Earlene Everett, John L. Phillips (Dorothy), Bobby Phillips, Terry Phillips and Alfred Phillips (Bernetta), all of Valdosta, GA; Maggie Thomas of Staffor, VA, Lena Rankin of Hahira, GA, Gracie Phillips of Pontiac, MI, Deborah Marion (Tony) of Bellevue, NE and Eric Phillips of Phoenix, AZ; one brother: Jeremiah Rockamore (Connie) of Valdosta, GA, thirty two grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; two sisters in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The homegoing celebration for the late Mrs. Daisy L. Phillips will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Truth Harbor Apostolic Church.
