Dr. Danielle McFarland – Neloms was born on May 17, 1976 to her beloved, surviving parents, Daniel and Ebenezer B. McFarland, of Valdosta, GA. Dr. McFarland – Neloms was educated in the Lowndes County School System and graduated 3 rd in her class from Lowndes High School in 1994. She went on to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA majoring in Biology and graduating with honors in 1998. In the fall of 1998, Dr. McFarland – Neloms began her medical school journey at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, GA. In May of 2002, she received her medical degree and began her internship and residency at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. For the next 4 years, Dr. McFarland – Neloms was a stellar doctor in training. There was little to no doubt that she would become a top-notch physician in her chosen field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since 2006, she has served women in the Valdosta community, as a well-respected and renowned OB/GYN. Dr. McFarland – Neloms is described by her colleagues and patients alike as a warm and caring physician who listened to her patients and never failed to address their concerns and comfort their apprehensions or fears. She worked extremely hard and exceptionally long hours. While many times she was not officially on call, Dr. McFarland – Neloms was always on call for her patients. When she was not in her professional capacity, she most enjoyed spending time in her garden, and above all spending time with the loves of her life – her adoring husband, Travice, and their precious children, Hailey and Kayden.
Dr. Danielle McFarland – Neloms departed this life on May 30, 2021. She is preceded in death by her late paternal grandparents, John and Ruby McFarland, and late maternal grandparents, Ferris Lee and Lottie Mae Bryant. She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Ebenezer B. McFarland of Valdosta, GA, as well as her husband of 19 years, Travice Neloms and their beautiful children, Hailey J. Neloms, Kayden G. Neloms, and Alex Waters. Also left to cherish are her loving sisters and brother: Shannee Thomas (Valdosta), Temika N. McFarland (Atlanta), and Derek T. McFarland (Valdosta); her only niece, Chelsi S. Taylor (Valdosta); her mother -in-law, Mrs. Lucille Coleman (Tifton); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her SGMC family.
