Deacon George Beal

July 8, 1941 — June 26, 2020

Valdosta

Deacon George Beal was born July 8, 1941, in Terrell County, GA, to the late Dan Beal, Sr. and the late Vary Hammond Beal.

As described by his family, Deacon George Beal was a man that lived his life based on the qualifications of a deacon. He loved his family and friends deeply. He proved himself to be a faithful leader and provider. He was a hard working businessman and entrepreneur who was talented and gifted with his hands. He showed himself friendly through kindness and his quick witt and humor. When not working hard with his hands for employment, he could be found using those same hands to prepare meals – he was a great cook.

Not only did he love his family and friends, Deacon Beal possessed a great love for God and his church family, Piney Grove Baptist Church in Albany, GA, where he served as a deacon.

On Friday, June 26, the Lord declared, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Deacon Beal transitioned from labor to reward.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Beal; two sisters: Ethel Beal Lewis and Fleta Oates and two brothers: Charlie “Pete” Beal and Carvin Beal, Sr.

Deacon George Beal leaves to celebrate his life and to cherish precious memories, his son: George Beal, Jr. of Albany, GA; two brothers: Dan Beal, Jr. (Christine) of Albany, GA and Adolphus Beal (Julia) of Atlanta, GA; a special niece: Kimberly Lewis; special grand-nephew: Donald “Lil Don” Lewis, Jr. who were also his caretakers; special grand-nephew: Zion McGowan; two best friends: Lewis Phillips and J.C. Rockwell; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
