Deacon Eugene Wilson

June 5, 1927 — October 19, 2011

And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain; My friend, I’ll say it clear, I’ll state my case of which I’m certain; I’ve lived a life that’s full, I’ve traveled each and every highway and more, much more than this;
I did it my way!”

Eugene Wilson was born June 05, 1927 to the late Frank Wilson and the late Annie Mae Wilson. God gently called him from labor to reward Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his place of residence.

Eugene did what he had to do and saw it through without exemption. He planned each chartered course, each careful step along the by-way. And more, much more than this; He did it, His way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Eva Marie Wilson; his sisters: Charlie Mae McElroy and Ola Pearl Porter and his brother: Fred Lee Womble.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories a devoted caregiver and friend: Mrs. Marie Bailey, his church family, Valdosta Lodge #19 - Prince Hall Affiliated, and a host of nieces, nephews, sorrowing family and friends.

For what is a man, what has he got; if not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels, and not the words of one who kneels. I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried; I’ve had my fill, my share of losing. To think I did all that, and may I say, not in a shy way; Oh, no, no not me…..
I, Eugene Wilson, did it my way!

The homegoing celebration for Mr. Wilson will be held Saturday, October 29 at 1:00pm at New Hopewell Baptist Church in Naylor, GA.

Rev. Johnny Brown will officate.
