Deaconess Carrie M. Brown Clinton

April 1, 1951 — March 8, 2013

Mrs. Carrie Brown-Clinton was born to the parentage of the late Elder Willie P. Brown and Mother Queen E. Brown on April 1, 1951 in Lakeland, Ga. She was a 1970 graduate of Lowndes High School and a 1971 Graduate of Valdosta Tech where she earned her CNA certificate. Carrie was reared in a Godly home and was a faithful member of Braswell Temple Church as a youth into adulthood.

On December 4, 1972, Carrie married Charles Clinton and moved to Delray Beach, FL, where she united with the Church of the Living God where she served faithfully in many capacities. Her love for the Lord and people would allow her to meet and touch many wonderful souls throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father: Elder Willie P. Brown; two sisters: Brenda Brown and Evangelist Leather Brown-Braswell; and one brother: Ernest James Brown.

After a day of being non-responsive, in the early morning hours of Friday, March 8, 2013, as the sun began to rise on the canvas of a virgin day, Carrie was revived to bid farewell to her loving family and after gazing upon everyone who called her name, she slipped from time to eternity surrounded by her family as they serenaded her with the words, “Our God is Awesome, He can move mountains, keep me in the valley, hide me from the rain…” and as the song ended, she bowed her head into the loving bosom of Jesus. For to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Charles Clinton, Delray Beach, FL; one daughter: Verronda George, Delray Beach, FL; loving mother: Mother Queen Elizabeth Miller-Brown; one brother: Bishop W.C. Brown (Irene); her “boys” whom she finished raising after the passing of her dear sister: Todd Braswell (Keyante), Min. A.C. Braswell, Jr. (Carlotta) and Pastor J. Bernard Braswell, II (Carmella), all of Valdosta, GA; one grandson: Gernard Miller; dear cousins: Jimmy Williams, Sr. and Evang. Betty Jones; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

She will also be remembered by special friends, her caring employer whom she loved and adored, Mrs. Ann Grayson and family, Evang. Garnell Hamilton, Ms. Robin Thompson, Thessalonia Stephens and family, Allene Williams, Evelyn Clinton Kelly and Bishop R.L. Cleckly and the Church of the Living God, Delray Beach, FL.

Special thanks to Hospice of Vitas and Mrs. Ann Grayson for all your love and care that you provided to our dear Carrie.

We are eternally grateful
