Dean Carson Sims was born to Lovette L. Sims, February 3, 1960, in Adel, GA. He received his education in the Cook County School System, Adel, GA and graduated in 1978.
Dean was self-employed as a professional horticulturist, landscaper, and gardener. He was a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer, Valdosta, GA. As a worshipper, dancer, and singer, you could find Dean on any given Sunday morning eagerly waiting to get his praise and worship on for Christ. He was a man who enjoyed life. Gardening was his greatest passion. He also enjoyed cooking and creating unusual crafts. He had a special love for his nieces and nephews—always full of hugs and kisses; encouraging words for his family; giving above and beyond of himself. Dean will always be remembered as being a creative designer and a hardworking man, who was very giving, full of passion, joyful, and playful. He taught us all how to appreciate the importance of family and stopping to smell the flowers.
Surrounded by his loving family, the Lord granted Dean eternal rest Friday, July 22, 2016.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. John Ray, Mrs. Estella Ray, Mrs. Miller Allen; and his two brothers: Dennis Sims and Butch Sims.
Dean was a devoted son to his mother, Mrs. Lovette L. Sims of Sparks, GA. Along with her, he leaves to cherish his memories three brothers: Nelson Sims (Sandra) of Sparks, GA, Charles Sims (Wendy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Louis Sims (Tania) of Winter Haven, FL; five sisters: Janice Sims Walker of Hahira, GA; Kim Wynn (John) of Lakeland, GA, Kathy Kinchen (Norvell), Lequitta Sims, and Angela Sims all of Valdosta, GA; three aunts: Hattie Bell Smith and Johnnie Mae Jenkins of Sparks, GA, and Earnestine Ray of Lake Wales, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends whom he loved dearly.
