Deborah Jane Carr

Deborah Carr, age 58, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2020, at home in Valdosta, GA. Debbie was born December 15, 1961, in Cortland, NY, to Rowland and Patsy (Murphy) Smith. She was a 1980 graduate of Moravia Central School. Debbie was a longtime employee of Cortland Regional Medical Center and known as a warm and considerate caregiver by coworkers and patients.

Debbie is survived by her parents; partner, Harry Godfrey; daughter, Brandee Smith; step-daughter, Sara Godfrey; 4 brothers: Rowland (HyeRan) Smith, Kevin (Terri) Smith, Brian (Faith) Smith, and Cornelius Smith. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Debbie is pre-deceased by her husband Edward Carr in 2008.

There will be no services, however a celebration of Debbie’s life will be planned and announced at a later date.
