Mrs. Debra Theresa Farrior

December 28, 1953 — August 1, 2017

Debra Theresa Farrior was born Debra Theresa Smith December 28, 1953, in New Jersey to the late Maedeane Baker and the late Leroy Smith.

Debra attended the Paterson Public Elementary School system from Kindergarten through eighth grade. She then entered into Eastside Highschool starting at grade 9 and later obtained her GED. Debra worked for many years in New Jersey at Sher Distributors and North Jersey Developmental Center. In 2001 Debra relocated to Georgia where she became employed as a CNA. Through her years of service, she has maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Filled with compassion and interest in others, Debra served as a helper to all in many capacities at her New Jersey church home, Christian Fellowship Center. Upon moving to Georgia, she dedicated her time and service to her Georgia church home, New Life Ministries, while she was able.

Before her illness, Debra was adventurous and an energetic walker. She loved being outdoors, walking around shopping and going to garage sales. Because of the person she was, she would shop for people she didn’t even know, knowing that her found bargains would be a blessing to someone.

Debra loved her children and grandchildren. She was proud of them and at every chance she told anyone who would listen. Her heart was golden and to know her was to love her.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, the Lord called Debra home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Vander Ledbetter and her second husband of 28 years Ivey S. Farrior.

Debra T. Farrior leaves in admiration of her love and memories, her five children: Tammi Pickens (Kevin), Natasha Smith (Orlando), Bernard Ledbetter, Darion Farrior, and Kymira Cooper; 15 grandchildren: Jalill, Curtis, Calvin, Nialah, Zaria, Orande’, Aliysha, Nevaeh, Shontae, Anastasia, Harmony, Demiliyah, Jamysziah, DezMeire, and Kevin; one great grandson Darius; and two god children: Lamont Warren and La’nai Turner; one brother Michael Smith; another brother: Sonny;one sister: Juanita Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
