Doris Louise Kelly

Doris Louise Kelly was born August 17, 1941, in Parrott, Georgia, to the late Jack and Estella Watson.

At age 10, Doris, along with her parents, moved to New Jersey. She lived in New Jersey form 1951 –1997. While living in New Jersey, she met and married her husband, Joe Willie Kelly, November 4, 1960. The Kelly’s relocated to Valdosta in the year of 1997.

Doris was one of life’s best treasured gifts. She was caring, loving, thoughtful and true. She always willing to lend a helping hand and share whatever she had. Doris had a heart of gold. She was a true friend and pal to her husband, Joe. Her family and friends knew they could depend on her love through the thick and thin.

On Thursday, May 17, the Lord decided it was time for Doris to have eternal rest. Though she is now gone from her family, she will never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Doris leaves to mourn her passing while yet remembering precious memories, her husband of 57 years, Joe W. Kelly of Valdosta, GA; three children: Joyce Kelly of Rahway, NJ, Joey Kelly of Franklin, NJ, and Dennis Kelly of Valdosta, GA; her three grandchildren: LaTacha Kelly of Valdosta, GA, LaToya Kelly of Trenton, NJ, and William Shawn Owens of California; five great grandchildren: Kareem Finney, Samere Finney, and Kahli Finney all of Trenton, NJ, Briana Kelly of Valdosta, GA, and Isis White of LaGrange, GA; one great-great-grandson: Carson White of LaGrange, GA; two sisters: Annie Laura Berry of NC and Mary Pettis of Piscataway, NJ; one brother in-law: Milton Kelley; three sisters in-law: Margareta Kelley, Mary Williams, and Delores Banks; and a host of extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mrs. Doris Louise Kelly will be Thursday, May 24, 2018, 11:00 A.M., at the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel, 636 River Street, Valdosta, GA.

Pastor Fred Jackson, St. Paul M. B. Church, Florence, New Jersey, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2018, 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Godfrey Funeral Home.
