Mrs. Doris Mae Williams was born February 25, 1932, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Tom Williams, Jr. and the late Katie Washington.
She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Perry Lee Williams; two sons: Reginald T. Burns and Jonathan C. Lazard; one brother: John J. Brown; grandmother: Isabella Williams; aunt: Delcey Brown; and a niece: Nita Brown.
Doris attended Douglas High School in Thomasville, GA. She furthered her education by completing Cosmetology School.
She was employed by the late Mr. Robert and Mrs. Tootsie Anderson, Jr. where she served faithfully for over 30years. The love for her chosen profession was evident through her unparalleled commitment, dedication and service to the Anderson-Foy family.
She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.
Doris transitioned from labor to reward Friday, October 16, 2015.
Her sweet spirit will be cherished by her loving daughters: Sherry Berry (Dewayne) of Valdosta, Georgia and Courtney Anderson Lipford (John) of Valdosta, Georgia; six grandchildren: Sherita Lucas (Jason) of Hahira, Georgia; Kaysie Williams of Miami, Florida, Jada Williams, Frank Crawley III and Courtney Crawley, all of Valdosta, Georgia, and A.J. Crawley of Vidalia, Georgia; one sister-in-law: Helen Brown; two god-children: Malcolm Haile and Reno Foster; nine special friends: Orlando and Ocie Marshall, Sylvia White, Robert Moore, Mittie Pearl Russell, Eddie Dennard, Dewitt Henderson, Jerry Moran, and Ella Mae Strickland; special families: Foster and Brooks; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Doris Mae Williams will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Morning Star Baptist Church.
Dr. William C. Morgan is the pastor and will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
No public viewing will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please make a monetary donation to Langdale Hospice House or Hospice South Georgia.
