Dorothy Green

Mrs. Dorothy Campbell Green, age 81, of 726 East Jane Street, Valdosta, GA, passed this life on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at Smith Northview Hospital, Valdosta. Mrs. Dorothy was born on May 21, 1929 to the late Mr. Charlie E. Campbell and the late Mrs. Avery Griffin Campbell in Delmar, Georgia. She was married to the late Mr. Abraham Green.
Dorothy was a very loving, caring and giving person to her family, neighbors, church family and those who she came in contact with. She was affectionately called “Aunt Dot” by all who knew her. Each day of her life, until the end, she lifted her eyes unto the Lord who sustained her. She placed her faith and trust in God. She was a faithful member of the Southside Church of Christ and the Ladies Monthly Prayer Service until her health failed. She was also a member of the Delmar Pallbearers Lodge and Neighborhood Floral Club.

She leaves to lament her passing four siblings: Eula Godfrey, Sarah Kier, Marcus (Odell) Campbell of Valdosta, GA and Willie Frank (Mattie) Campbell of Tampa, FL. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Special thanks to Aunt Olivia Whitten for all of your support. A very special thanks to her caretaker and nurse, Mrs. Carolyn Kenney for a job well done! We also would like to say thanks to the staff at Smith Northview Hospital.

Funeral services will be on Sunday August 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of Southside Church of Christ. Bro. John Iverson, presiding, and Bro. Charlie E. Godfrey will officiate. Interment will follow at Joe Howell Cemetery in Howell, GA. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.godfreyfuneralhome.net.
