Mrs. Earnestine Smith Brantley

October 2, 1953 — June 15, 2016

Earnestine Smith Brantley was born October 2, 1953, to the late Tommie Mae Smith and the late Benjamin Johnson in Valdosta, Georgia.

Earnestine was a beautiful, strong and caring person. She was a mentor, a confident, and also a friend; someone on whose love you could depend. Strength and honor were her clothing. She opened her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue was the law of kindness. Only once in your life will someone so special walk in front of you and prepare the way for a better future. Only once will you have the opportunity to be loved by someone who could never love you more than Earnestine did every day.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, the Lord gently whispered, “Peace be thine.”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter: Yolanda Brantley Campbell; two sisters: Tommie Lee Harris and Mae Francis Gholston; and her four brothers: George Smith, Jr., Johnny Smith, Sidney Smith, and Willie Russell Smith.

Earnestine leaves to cherish fond memories; her husband of 22years, Isaiah Brantley; her three children: Craig Young, Janice Young, and Flora Reynolds, all of Valdosta, GA; three step-children: Isaiah Brantley III and LaShonda Brantley, both of Valdosta, GA and Qunita Brantley (Chris) of Atlanta, GA; two special grandchildren: Jailah Young and Joshua Young; three sisters: Dorothy McGee, Doretha Howell and Lucille Smith, all of Valdosta, GA; mother-in-law: Louvenia Brantley; one sister-in-law: Annie Katie Smith of Valdosta, GA; one brother-in-law: Curtis Brantley; special nephew: Larry Smith; special niece: Phyliss NeSmith; godson: Kyre Shepherd; goddaughter: Zanobia Shepherd; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
