Eddie Lee "Billy" Parrish

Eddie Lee Parrish was born May 2, 1947, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Will Parrish and the late Doretha Hunt Shannon.

Eddie was an admirable, laid back, down to earth man—always ready to lend a helping hand. His life was full of loving deeds for his family and friends. He worked hard to provide for his family as a truck driver for over 20years.

Recognizing he needed a Savior, he became a member of Crossing Jordan Baptist Church. Believing what prayer could do, he prayed for his family endlessly.

On Friday, September 14, 2018, Eddie was granted eternal rest.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charlie Shannon, who raised him as his own.

Eddie leaves precious memories to his wife, Maxine Parrish of Valdosta, GA; his daughter: Regina Parrish Wrice of Valdosta, GA; a god-daughter: Symanthia Monigan (Lindell) of Hahira, GA; a god-son: Mayo Roberts of Monticello, FL; his five grandchildren: Travoris D. Jones (Tricia) of Killeen, TX, Adrienne Roundtree (Nicholas) of Valdosta, GA, NyJah Brady (Amy) of Wilmington, DE, Savarion Bivins of Valdosta, GA and Sa’Hari Bivins of Valdosta, GA; seven great-grandchildren: Travoris D. Jones, Jr., T’Arei Jones and Tara Jones all of Hahira, GA, Raya Jones of Huntsville, AL, LaMarico Parker, A’Myra Brady and Nevaeh Brady, all of Wilimington, DE; his four special friends: John Gray, Pamela Duncan, Roddey Vickers and Deacon Elijah Holmes; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Eddie Lee “Billy” Parrish will be Saturday, September 22, 2018, 12:00 p.m., from the sanctuary of Crossing Jordan Baptist Church, 1401 Cypress Street, Valdosta.

Dr. Ronnie J. Mathis is pastor will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.

Public viewing will Friday, September 21, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
