Eddie B. Tucker

Eddie B Tucker, the son of the late Will and Lena Tucker, was born on September 19, 1922. He departed this life on Monday, December 16, 2019. He grew up on the Tucker Family Farm in Clyattville with his siblings, Glover, Johnny B, Leila Mae, and the twins, Ansel and Ander. All his siblings preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Veteran serving in Germany. After completion of his military duty, he returned to Valdosta where he met and married the love of his life, Evelyn McFarland. To this union three children were born, Laverne (deceased), Jerome, and Theresa. They also had the opportunity to raise three other nephews and a niece Radar, Clinton, Robert, and Barbara.

He was a dedicated member of the Newsome Street Church of Christ in Hahira until his health failed one year ago. He worked as Foreman at Dasher Pecan Factory until retirement while also working the family farm alongside his wife and children on Tucker Hill every day. On the farm is where he taught his family the meaning of community service and taking care of your neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his daughter, Laverne, and Evelyn, his wife of 63 years. He leaves four generations to continue his legacy and celebrate his life: His children: Theresa (William) and Jerome (Rosa); Ten grandchildren: Valerie, Reggie, Salivia, Sabrina, Iesha, Laticia, TaShonda, Eric, LaToya, and Jeremy; nine great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and especially his Newsome Street Church of Christ family.

The Celebration of Life for the late Eddie B. Tucker will be Saturday, December 21, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Southside Church of Christ, 1198 Old Statenville Road, Valdosta, GA.

Elder Gene Godfrey  will officiate.

Interment, Georgia McFarland Family Cemetery, 4888 Rocky Ford Road, Valdosta, GA.

Visitation, Friday, December 20, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
