Edna Mae Siermons

Edna Mae Wright Siermons was born October 23, 1934 in Lakeland, GA, to the late Mr. Ousley Wright and the late Mrs. Lula Mae Day Wright.

Recognizing her ability to relate well with people, Edna knew that being a professional care taker was indeed her calling. She girded herself with honor, lovingkindness and strengthened her ability with patience. She was a woman of strength who had the courage not to back down from a decision she’d made. She walked in front of her children preparing and showing them the way to a better future. She was a blessing and a gift, a treasure like no other.

On Sunday, December 27, 2015 the Great Physician saw that one of his special caretakers was in need of care, He closed her weary eyelids and whispered, “Come and take your rest.”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Willis Wright and Howard Wright; her grandparents: Jim Day, Mary Day, Martin Wright and Anna Wright; and one child: Shakim Arnold.

Edna Mae Siermons leaves to celebrate her life, twelve children: Jeanette Evans of Ellenwood, GA, Danny Sirmans (Pastor Deborah) of Valdosta, GA, Annette Robinson (Leroy) of Valdosta, GA, Francine Williams (Godfrey) of Valdosta, GA, Gary Sirmans of Atlanta, GA, Rickey Sirmans (Sharon) of Valdosta, GA, Pamela Bess of Gainesville, FL, Tracy Hargrove (Thomas) of Valdosta, GA, Tabatha Arnold of Tuskegee, AL, Nakiya Arnold of Tuskegee, AL, Jaquay Arnold of Tuskegee, AL, and JaQwan Arnold of Miami, FL; one sister: Anna Banks of Naylor, GA; six brothers: O.W. Wright of Valdosta, GA, J.H. Wright (Nadine) of Valdosta, GA, Martin Wright of Naylor, GA, Charles H. Wright (Sondra) of Valdosta, GA, Bobby Wright (Kay) of Naylor, GA, and Earl Wright of Valdosta, GA: three aunts: Florence Shannon of Bradenton, FL, Minnie Day of Valdosta, GA, and Geraldine Day of Valdosta, GA; twenty nine grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren; a special family friend: Fred Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Edna Mae Siermons will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of New Life Ministries.

Interment will follow in the Charles Knight Cemetery in Lakeland, GA.

Public viewing will beheld Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 10:00am-8:00pm at Godfrey Funeral Home.
