Elder Willie Paul Brown was born to the late Joe and Ola Brown, June 25, 1927 in Naylor, GA.
Elder Brown was a man of great courage, unshakable faith, and strong determination who enjoyed the fellowship of the saints. He remained grateful for all the things God had brought him through. How God kept him, guided him, healed him, protected him, saved him, raised him and filled him with the precious holyghost. After being called into the ministry under the leadership of Elder James Braswell, Elder Brown served as pastor of the Church of God in Unity in Morven, GA, Red Flag Church of God in Unity in Bemiss, GA and Hester Temple Church of God in Unity.
His Master said to him on Monday, December 26, 2011, “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of the Lord.”
In addition to his parents, Elder Brown was preceded in death by eight sisters: Ora Spearman, Louise Williams, Florence Wright, Lillie Miller, Betrice Williams, Blanch Johnson, Agness Burgman and Joyce Ann Belcher; three brothers: Moses Brown, John Henry Brown and Talbert Brown; one daughter: Leather Brown Braswell; one son: Earnest Brown, Sr. and one son in-law: Abel C. Braswell, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his wisdom and his ways a loving and devoted wife of sixty five years: Queen E. Brown; two children: Willie C. (Irene) Brown of Valdosta, GA and Carrie Brown (Charles) Clinton of Delray Beach, FL; four sisters: Verna Benjamin of Sacramento, CA, Alice Miller, Pinkey Bridges, and Ella Bridges of Valdosta, GA; a special nephew: Jimmy Williams; fourteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; a special goddaughter and son: Angela and Eddie Ponder and host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The homegoing celebration for Elder Willie Paul Brown will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Christian Love Bible Baptist Church.
Pastor J. Bernard Braswell II will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Register Cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday December 30, 2011 from noon until 8 p.m.
