Elijah Davis, Sr. was born December 1, 1930 in Alapaha, Georgia, to the late Alfred Davis and Leola Thomas.
Elijah was a hard worker, a “Jack of all Trades”. His tough, strong hands provided for his family whom he loved very much. When not working, he could be found sitting up under his favorite tree, doing what he loved, talking, laughing and sharing with his friends. Elijah loved life and people. He never met a stranger. All who knew him, will remember his caring heart, his loving ways, and most of all his greens—which he crowned himself as “The King of Collard Greens”!
Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart; his sprit lives within us, forever in our hearts.
Elijah was granted eternal rest, Sunday, March 30, 2014.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four children: Elijah Davis, Jr., Paula Davis, Rachel Allen and James Nickson; and one sister: Lucille Fleming.
