Elizabeth Lawrence Jackson

December 24, 1922 — July 4, 2015

Elizabeth Lawrence Jackson was born December 24, 1922 in Varnville, SC to the late Hester Prester and Albert Lawrence.

Elizabeth possessed a love that was true and sincere. She was loving and caring, not only to her children, but to everyone she would meet. She was very outgoing and friendly, someone who was very easy to talk to. Always a smile, instead of a frown. Always a hand, when one was down.

Elizabeth loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, body and soul. She was a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ where she faithfully worshipped until her health failed.

Elizabeth was granted eternal rest on Saturday, July 4, 2015.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband: David Jackson; her sisters: Fannie Mae Preston and Frankie Lee Goodman; her brothers: Joe Johnson, Freddy Lawrence and James Lawrence; and five brothers in-law.

Elizabeth leaves her legacy of love and devotion to her three children: Rosa Jackson of Boston, MA, Edward Johnson (Pauline) of Valdosta, GA, and Carolyn Johnson of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Dorothy Hudson of Lyman, SC; one goddaughter: Carlethia Mikal of Valdosta, GA; five special nieces and nephews: Steve Johnson of Dallas, TX, Johnny Goodman of Lyman, SC, Jerome Goodman of Green Cove Springs, FL, Fredrica Dunbar of Varnville, SC, and Deidra Collier of Valdosta, GA; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., from the sanctuary of the Forrest Park Church of Christ, 4263 Inner Perimeter Rd, Valdosta, GA.

Elder Barry Robinson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.

Public viewing will be today, Friday, July 10th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., here at Godfrey Funeral Home.
