Elouise K. Howell (Doll Baby) was born April 21, 1938 in Valdosta, GA to the late Johnnie M. and Gussie (Howard)Kinchen. She was the third of 11 children and she and her eldest brother Johnnie, would always fight over who was really the “Bull of the Pin”. She graduated from Dasher High School and attended Fort Valley State and Morgan State in Maryland. She received a degree in Education, and later married her former husband, Joseph (Jake) Howell and to that union two children were born. (Joseph and Lynarda). Elouise accepted Christ as Her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Saint James for many years.
Elouise retired from the Lowndes County School system after 30 years of service. She was an excellent teacher all around, but her strong points were Math and English. She was known to be very stern but was still loved by her students. Her teaching style touch the lives of many students and family members causing them to excel.
Elouise loved to shop until you drop and many of her nieces could testify to that. If you were going to hang out with her, you’d better be ready! She would be there when the stores open and when they closed. Her sister Elnora (Shang) was her best shopping buddy. If you didn’t have on an opportunity to shop with her, you missed a treat. The fondest memories of those times was a trip to the shopping mall in West Palm Beach where she was actually was left in a store after the mall closed. She was a fashion DIVA in deed, wearing matching purse, shoes and hats.
Elouise leaves her precious memories to her loving children Joseph (Bridgett) Howell (Conyers, GA); Lynarda Howell (Marietta, GA)grandchildren, D’Andra Waye, Alexia Howell and Jason Howell. Her brothers, Johnnie (Helen) Kinchen (Fitzgerald, AL); Robert Kinchen (Baltimore, MD); Norvel(Kathy) Kinchen (Valdosta, GA); Raymond Kinchen (Marie Smith), Valdosta, GA; two sisters, Elnora (Shang) Kinchen, (Stockbridge, GA) and Earnestine Stokes (Valdosta, GA). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and neighbors. Those who went on before her now share in this rejoicing moment. Her Father and Mother, Johnnie and Gussie Kinchen, her sisters, Earline, Eleanor, Evon, and her brother Willie (Sonny) Kinchen.
