Embra Sanders, Jr. of Valdosta, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born on December 04, 1954 in Sahara, Utah to Embra Sanders, Sr. and Ernestine Marable Sanders. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the West Adair Church of Christ. He was educated in the Valdosta Public School System and received an Associate of Arts Degree from Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Mr. Sanders was employed at Strickland Cotton Mills, Shaw Industries and occupied other jobs until his health failed.
His father preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his devoted wife: Kathryn Pierce Sanders; three children: Stephanie (Rocheller) Mosley of Nashville,TN, Marcus Sanders of Valdosta,GA, and Courtney Sanders of Augusta, GA; mother: Ernestine Marable Sanders of Valdosta, GA; four sisters: Cleopatra (Willie) Houseal of Valdosta,GA, Cynthia Brinson, Amelia Sanders and Phyllis Howard of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren: Destiny, Joseph, Joshua, Linda, Gloriana and Cordae; mother-in-law: Doris Pierce of Hahira,GA; sisters-in-law: Debra Pierce of Hahira,GA and Juanita Sermon of Irvington, NJ; brother-in-law: Michael (Gwendolyn) Pierce of Sparks,GA; four nephews, two nieces, seven great-nieces and nephews and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 01, 2011 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of River Street Church of Christ. Bro. Eric Cureton will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
