Emma Lou Franklin Griffin departed this life on September 4, 2015 at the Cook Senior Living Center in Adel, Georgia.

She was born on December 7, 1940, in Lake Park, Georgia to the late Ruby and Mirl Franklin.

She was educated in the Lowndes County School System. She met and married Burton Griffin on November 18, 1966. Emma was a woman of faith and service. She served God and her family with all of her heart, mind and soul with a gentle and loving spirit. Along with her family, she faithfully served Bobby and Brenda Wetherington where she worked diligently until her retirement.

Emma Lou is survived by her husband of 48years: Burton Griffin of Barney, Georgia; a daughter: Hilda Alderman (Karl) of Hahira, Georgia; a son: Jeffery Franklin (Armira) of Adel, Georgia; her six grandchildren whom she adored: Darrell Alderman (Porsche) of Tampa, Florida, Karl Alderman of Atlanta, Gerogia, Kelvin Alderman of Hahira, Georgia, Jeffery Franklin (Lashaya) of Adel, Georgia, Jason Franklin of Adel, Georgia and Jarod Franklin of Adel, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren: Malik, Dominique, Jeffery, Jamarion, Kayden, Koren, Jalen (Fluffy), Kaden and Karligeh; two sisters: Ruby Mae Washington of Louisville, Kentucky and Wilma Moorehead (Phillip) of Valdosta, Georgia; one brother: John Lewis Franklin of Hahira, Georgia; one aunt: Albertha Boykin of Valdosta, Georgia; four sisters-in-law: Bula Franklin of Rockledge, Florida, Mary Francis Franklin of Piscataway, New Jersey, Juanita Morrison of Hinesville, Georgia and Doris Hooper of Tampa, Florida; and two brothers-in-law: O.B. Griffin of Barney, Georgia and Willie Thomas of Barney, Georgia; five godchildren: Fred, Lee, Tisha, Tina and Tika Wetherington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Emma Griffin will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Newsome Street Church of Christ.

Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
