Estelle D. Gosier

October 8, 1946 — July 5, 2012

Estelle Dentria Gosier was born to the late Elder Golden and the late Estelle “Cassie” Golden, October 08, 1946 in Brooks County, GA.

The Lord called her unto eternal rest Thursday, July 05, 2012.

Estelle, fondly known as “Miss Peggy”, graduated from Brooks County High School in 1964 where she received a basketball scholarship to Albany State University. She humbly set aside her education goals temporarily to become the mother of seven. Later she attended St. Petersburg Technical College in 1998 and earned a certificate in Floral Arrangement Design. Estelle practiced her trade at Nobles Floral and Gift Shop of Albany, GA.

“Miss Peggy” enjoyed being in the company of people and especially her friends. She was always generous with whatever she had—be it a place to sleep, food or clothing. Whatever a stranger or friend needed she would be willing to help. She would give you the shirt off her back. No one was a stranger in her eyes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter: Trina Evans; one sister: Eddie Barkley and one brother: Frank Golden.

Estelle leaves to cherish her fond memories, six children: Willeana Thomas (Marion) of Tifton, GA; Willie Gosier, Jr., Cassandra Gosier, Maurice “Johntay” Golden and Jermaine “Charod” Gosier (Latrice) all of Valdosta, GA and Jamal “Melmel” Gosier, Sr., of Fort Stewart, GA; one sister: Thelma Glenn of St. Petersburg, FL; and one brother: Elder Golden, Jr. of Avon Park, FL, and a host grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing family and close friends.

The homegoing celebration for Estelle Gosier will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 9:00am from the sanctuary of Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Dr. William C. Morgan will officiate.

Private burial will follow.
