Ethel Straughter

Ethel Straughter was born to the late Leona Newsome Albritton and the late Josh Albritton, May 16, 1948 in Valdosta, GA.

The Lord quietly beckoned His child to come home, Sunday, January 08, 2012 at the Holly Hill Nursing Home where she was a resident for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ethel is survived by two children: Sherri (Eddie) McDonald and Willie (Betty) Straughter of Valdosta, GA; three sisters: Annie (Felton) Lewis, Leona (Calvin) Waters and Lula Mae Williams of Valdosta, GA; two brothers: Robert (Belsina) Woods of Atlanta, GA and Charlie Albritton of Valdosta, GA; one aunt: Ruby Lee Roberts of Valdosta, GA; six grandchildren: Tamika, Wesley (Victoria), Larry, Willie Jr., Jasmine and Tiffany; six great-grandchildren: Calvin, Tyquaan, Naiema, Nyla, Jacari and Micah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the staff of Holly Hill Nursing Home.

The homegoing celebration for Ms. Ethel Straughter will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Godfrey Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Dunbar will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
