Evangelist Claudia Dean Rumph

April 10, 1944 — October 19, 2014

Claudia Dean Rumph, daughter of the late Eva Dell Drain Rouse and Oscar Rouse, Sr., was born on April 10, 1944 in Macon, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Peach County and was also a graduate of South Georgia Technical College of Valdosta, Georgia.

Years prior to settling in the Valdosta area, Evangelist Rumph believed God for salvation through Jesus Christ, confessing and repenting of her sins, baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus, and being filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost. She passionately endeavored to walk in the way of holiness. She was soon called into the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Evangelist Rumph’s life consisted of these apostolic fellowships: Bethel Temple Holiness Church, Upper Room Holiness Church, Beulah Temple Apostolic Church and First United Pentecostal Church. Her ministry was always marked by an anointing of prayer, intercession, prophecy, wisdom, and compassion for all those she encountered as she lived, taught and preached the gospel of the kingdom. As time passed, she began to be affectionately called “Mother Rumph”. In her latter years, her apostolic fellowship continued as a faithful member and supporter of the Kingdom P.O.W.E.R. ministries founded by her eldest son.

Mother Claudia Rumph transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2014. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Oscar Rouse, Jr.

As we reflect on her life and her life in Christ, she is lovingly remembered by her children: Valerie McAfee Ages (Lee) of Charlotte, NC, Carla McAfee of Riverdale, GA, Andrew McAfee of Cordele, GA, Michael Davis, Sr. of Washington, DC and Ethan Rumph of Cordele, GA; her grandchildren: Chrystal Ages Brown (Jimmy) of Charlotte, NC, Courtni Ages of Charlotte, NC, Ciero Cherelle McAfee of Macon, GA, Vernessia “Shae” Jackson of Riverdale, GA, Michael Davis, Jr. and Madison Davis of Dallas, TX, and Ethan Rumph II of Winter Haven, FL; her great-grandchildren: La’Niyah Houston and Michaiah McAfee of Macon, GA, Camille Brown, Raven Brown, and Makayla Brown of Charlotte, NC and Vertuies “Duke” Wall, Jr. of Macon, GA. She is survived by her sister Mary Ann Coleman (John) of Charleston, SC, niece Kenya Coleman Hughes (John) of Alpharetta, GA, nephew Kevin Coleman of Chicago, IL and sister-in-law Linda McAfee of Fort Valley, GA.

Her life is forever in the memories of those spiritual children and friends who have remained faithful to God and to her throughout the years namely Thomascina Walls of Ashburn, GA, Jack Smith of Fort Valley, GA and C. R. and Beth Lukens of Zephyrhills, FL. There are many other friends throughout the years too numerous to name, but loved just the same.
