Evelyn Louise Jenkins was born November 10, 1938, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Leola Baker and Oliver Barnes.
Louise, fondly called “Lou”, was a wonderful woman. Her love for her family and friends was deep and sincere. “Lou” knew how to create an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love in her home. Always a smile, instead of a frown—always a hand when one was down. She was a woman of worth, beauty, strength and determination. When she was not attending to the needs of her family she could be found tending to her beautiful flowers.
Only once in your life will someone so special walk in front of you and prepare the way for a better future. Only once will you know someone who has the courage not to back down from a decision she’s made. Only once will you have the opportunity to be loved by someone who could never love you more than “Our Lou” did every day.
On Sunday, February 11, the Lord whispered to her, “Peace be Thine. You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith. Enter thy Master’s joy.”
Louise was preceded in death by her son: Charles Jenkins, Jr.
Thankful to God for sharing one of His angels with them, Louise leaves to mourn her passing while yet rejoicing her life, four children: Bobbie J. Sermons of Rex, GA, Bruce Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Jenkins of Rex, GA and Lawedia Jenkins of Chicago, IL; the father of her children and friend: Charles Jenkins; her seven grandchildren whom she adored; her two aunts: Mary Johnson of Miami, FL and Deloris Herndon of Lithonia, GA; her nieces: Dorothy Miller, Theresa Aikens and Melissa Hardy-Mitchell; two nephews: Jimmy Aikens and Tyrone Cox; special friends: Ora Bell Curtis and family and the entire Harrell Family; and a host of extended family and friends.
