Fannie Wilson

Valdosta

Mother Fannie Robinson Wilson was born March 10, 1922, in Lowndes County, GA, to the late Rossie Robinson and the late Amanda Jenkins.   She received her childhood education in the Lowndes County School System.  On November 26, 1945, she married Eddie A. Wilson of Quitman, GA.  She later accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of the Church of the Living God Pillar Ground and Truth; later moving her membership to Fodie Church of God in Unity; years later, Braswell Temple Church of God in Unity and finally New Destiny Church, where she served faithfully. She was a dedicated and long-time employee of South Georgia Medical Center where she retired in 1984, after 36 plus years of service.

Mother Fannie was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. Her life was full of loving deeds as she considered those in need. She was a woman of strength and honor. She was always different in her own unique way and thousands will miss her all of their days.

Mother Fannie was granted eternal rest, Thursday, September 10, 2020.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her husband, Eddie A. Wilson; one son, Larry D. Wilson; and one son in-law, John Marshall.

Mother Fannie Wilson leaves fond cherished memories to her children, Grace V. Godfrey of Valdosta, GA, Eddie Mae Marshall of Lansing, MI,  Sarah L. Jackson (Oglesby) of Morven, GA, Mack A. Wilson (Dollie) of Nortasula, AL, Verdie L. Pointer (William) of Battle Creek, MI,        and Kenneth E. Wilson (Fay) of Valdosta, GA,    one sister in-law, Flossie Wilson of Ray City, GA, sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

Celebration of Life for the late Mother Fannie Robinson Wilson will be Saturday, September 19, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at the chapel of Godfrey Funeral Home. This will be a private service for immediate family only.

Interment will follow at the Mt. Vienna A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 4880Mt. Vienna A.M.E. Church Road, Valdosta.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 18, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., here at Godfrey Funeral Home.

All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear a mask during visitation and at the gravesite.
