Floyd Crawford

Mr. Floyd (Papa) Crawford was born September 16, 1927, in Lowndes County, GA (Clyattville) Community, to the late Malloy T. and Ophelia Hart Crawford.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, Willa Marie Hunter Crawford; two children: Cassandra Bonita Crawford-Davis and Kenneth Tyrone Crawford; six siblings: C. W. Wilson, Leroy Irving, Ralph Crawford, Otis T. Crawford, Nellie Mae Crawford and Helen V. Williams.

Brother Floyd was a life member of Woods Chapel AME Church where he accepted Christ at age seven and served faithfully on the Steward and Trustee Board. He also attended Woods Chapel School in Clyattville, GA, Lowndes County.

Brother Crawford assisted his parents as a little boy on the family farm and baby sitting his other siblings, continuing working with family logging business. He later was employed by Farmers Supply, Black’s Logging, High Noon Farm and presently employed with Reames Family Farm. Hobbies: Cleaning out dugged wells, horse back riding, hunting, stock car racing fan and the best spring board jumper in Clyattville neighborhood.

Brother Floyd leaves to cherish his loving memories, five children: Glenelle Marshall (Bennie) of Inglewood, California, Rose Marrian Lester ( James) of Miramar, Florida, Floyd Louis Crawford (Mamie), Yvonne Bonner (William) and Owen H. Crawford ( Jeanette) of Valdosta, Georgia; one sister: Dorothy Cambridge (Doe); three sisters-in-law: Daisy M. Crawford, Blanche Crawford, and Johnnie Ruth Hunter; one brother-in-law: Charles Stacks (Brenda); sixteen grandchildren: Cedra Crawford, Moneta Lester-Taylor (Derrick), Kuron Marshall, Dexter Bonner (Marva), Roderick Crawford, Jason Bonner, Tonya Davis, Dedra Bonner, Nekennon Crawford, Travis Crawford ( Juanita), Greg Morrison, Marcus Bonner, Monica Vann ( Julian), Derrick Marshall, Andre Morrison, Xavier Crawford, Kendrick Crawford; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two lifelong friends: Joseph and Bobby Lee Solomon; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends

The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Floyd Crawford will be Saturday, April 7, 2018, 11:00 A.M., from the sanctuary of New Life Ministries, 5651 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta.

Rev. Tammie McFadden will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Hunter Memorial Gardens.

Public viewing will be Friday, April 6, 2018, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
