Franklin Williams

A Time To Be Born - On November 15, 1933, Franklin Donald Williams was born to the late Frank and Leila Williams of Howell, GA.


A Time For Education - Franklin received his education from the Valdosta City Schools, South Street Elementary and Dasher High School.


A Time To Unite - Franklin was united in Holy Matrimony to LaRonnia M. Dobson on May 24, 1973. They shared 37 wonderful years together.


A Time For Service To God - Since childhood, Franklin has been an active and faithful member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Haynes Gospel Choir, Chairman of the Trustee Board, and member of the Male Choir.


A Time For Service To Mankind - For 26 years, he faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force.


A Time To Belong - He was an avid supporter of:
• The American Cancer Society
• The Valdosta High School Wildcat Touchdown Club
• The Valdosta City & Lowndes County School Athletic Programs
• The 1955 Class of Dasher High School
• The American Legion
• The Amvets


A Time To Mourn - On Tuesday, April 26, 2011, God called his faithful servant from labor to reward. Father, we thank you for your gift of Franklin for so many productive seasons. He leaves to mourn: a loving wife: LaRonnia D. Williams; four children: Annette Sims and Patricia Griffin of Phoenix, AZ, Faye (Malcolm) Haile of Tampa, FL and Elmo (Felicia) Green III of Ashburn, VA; six grandchildren: Maurice, Bridgette LaRon, Christopher, Malcolm, Jr, Myles and Wesley; four great-grandchildren; one sister: Evelyn Richards of Gary, IN; two brothers: Herbert (Alice) Williams and Bunnis (Alma) Williams; two in-laws: Mary Cox and Lyle (Sabrina) Davis of Kansas, MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 3 p.m., from the sanctuary of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 104 ½ Wisenbaker Lane, Valdosta. Rev. Thomas J. Haynes, Pastor, will officiate and interment will follow in the Howell Cemetery, Howell, GA.

Public visitation will be Friday from noon to 9 p.m.
