Gerald Bernard Worthy

Gerald Bernard Worthy, was born February 19, 1960, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Rev. “Dr.” Bobby R. Worthy and the late Clara Mae Battle Worthy.

He was educated in the Valdosta City School System and was a proud member of the Valdosta High graduating Class of 1977.Gerald was one of life’s best gifts, someone to treasure all life through. He was loving, caring, energetic and extremely funny. Gerald was indeed the life of the party. His personality and charm were both captivating and mesmerizing. Things you thought you could not do, after Gerald finished, you found yourself doing it. His life motto was simple, yet profound: Master fear with faith and embrace anger with love.

A heartwarming smile was his and ours to enjoy until, Sunday, April 6, 2014.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother: Timothy R. Worthy, grandparents: Curtis Battle, Sr. and Estelle Fleming Battle and two uncles: Curtis Battle, Jr. and Rudolph Battle.

Gerald leaves to cherish his memories one sister: Susan Worthy (Marcus) of Palm Coast, FL; two brothers: Allen Worthy (Regina) of Valdosta, GA and Michael Worthy of Decatur, GA; one uncle: Joseph Battle (Catherine) of Valdosta, GA; aunt: Veronica Battle of Columbus, GA; nieces and nephews: Allen C. Worthy (Delmetria), Chesia Roberts, Timothy Worthy (Georgerina), Alexis Worthy and Semaj Worthy; special friends: Mrs. Sarah Brawner, Randy Folsom, Clyde Jackson, Richard Uddyback, Larry Smith, Joe Stokes, Willie Anderson, Willie Everette, the FAMU Fan Club, and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones that will miss him greatly.
