Geraldine Mack Wrice was born to the late March and Loney Mack, November 1, 1934.
Early in life she understood that she was chosen to use her talents to glorify God and serve others. Geraldine demonstrated her versatility and love for God through her service and guidance to others in her family, church, and community. Most recently, she was president of the Deaconess Ministry and Mother of New Bryant. She was also a Sunday School teacher for years until failing health. She found the time to organize two service ministries in the church: The Helping Hands Ministry with the guidance of Rev. Ronnie Mathis and the Golden Ministry. She was past president for many years for the Women’s Dept. of the Little River Second District Union. She often visited, cared for and prayed with the sick and shut-in throughout the community. She was an avid learner-completing a course of study at the Bryant Theological Seminary in Fitzgerald, GA and earning her GED at age 62 after retiring from Lanier County Schools Nutrition Program. She later continued her spiritual education as a faithful participant of local, regional, state and national Baptist conferences and workshops. She kept herself engaged in lifelong learning and hobbies such as fishing, knitting, crocheting, and being one of the community seamstresses. Geraldine was as comfortable playing video games with her grand-children, as she was learning how to use the computer, or teaching a ladies Sunday School class. She was always the biggest supporter and encourager for all her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Wrice; four brothers: E.S. Mack, Robert (Joe) Mack, Jasper Mack and Benjamin Mack; three sisters-in-law: Clara Ruth, Annette and Vera; and two brothers-in-law: Arthur and Dolphus; and a daughter-in-law: Susan.
Geraldine leaves to cherish many memories to her children: Eloise Sorrell (George) of Lakeland, GA, Robert L. Wrice of Lakeland, GA, Wendell Wrice, Lakeland, GA, Cassandra Mosley (Roy) of Omega, GA, and Gene Wrice (Dinitra) of Fort Hood, TX; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law: John W. Wrice (Wilma), George L. Wrice, Owen Wrice (Bertha), Oren Wrice, Lillie McEady, Alfred Wrice (Lanette), Willie Wrice (Anna), Enoch Wrice (Gwen), and Grace Mack; a special sister-in-law: Elizabeth Sirmons; two special cousins: Grace Wade and Betty Johnson; two devoted sons-in-law: George Sorrell and Roy Mosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
