Grace J. Reynolds

God in His infinite wisdom called from our midst our beloved mother, Grace J. Reynolds, on September 3, 2014. She was born on November 26, 1940 in Valdosta, Georgia to David and Ozella Sharp Everette. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a child at Southside Church of Christ and later joined Eastside Church of Christ wherein she served as a dedicated member under the leadership of Brother Arthur L. Ponder, Minister.

Grace worked and retired as a nutritionist from Heritage House Nursing Home. She did not have a degree in counseling, but every child in the neighborhood came to sit on her knee to tell their story, and she loved giving her advice.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jackie Leroy Reynolds; one sister: Annette Scott; two children: Yvonne Perry and James Johnson; and one grandson: James Bowser.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her children: Elaine Bowser of Fayetteville, NC, Henry Orr (Angela) of Hanahan, SC, Leon Johnson (Anna) of Fayetteville, NC, and Jackie Reynolds of Valdosta, GA; five grandchildren: Terry Russell (Shonda) of High Point, NC, Terrell Thomas (Coulson) of Sacramento, CA, Henry Orr, Jr. of Sumter, SC, LeAnn Johnson and Leon Johnson II of Fayetteville, NC; six great-grandchildren: Tyree Ruffin, Jheydin Harley, Reece Russell, Nylah Russell, Preston Orr, and Coulson Thomas, Jr.; two brothers: James Scott of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Oliver; two sisters: Sharon Everette Rozier and Betty Oliver of Valdosta, GA; two favorite cousins: Willie Mack and Eugene Sharp; and a host of cousins, nephews, other relatives, and many caring friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Grace J. Reynolds will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Eastside Church of Christ.

Bro. Arthur Ponder is the minister and will officiate.

Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
