Gregory Lamar Butler, 53, of Panama City, FL, passed away on July 11, 2011 at Bay Medical Hospital in Panama City, FL.
Mr. Butler was born January 1, 1958 in Valdosta,GA to the late Barbra Jean Baker and the late DeLeon Lonzo Baker.
He attended Lowndes County High School and graduated in 1975. From there, Gregory enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1979 where he served as an Aviation Specialist and worked on F15 flight simulators.
He married Joyce Renee Butler in 1980 and to this union three children were born; Tasavion, Tashara and Tashaneika.
Gregory was an exceptional man who enjoyed fishing, domino’s and just having fun with his family. He was dearly loved by many in his community.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Antwan Baker; his grandfather, Willie F.Butler; a niece, Monica Butler;a great-nephew, Christian Crawford; and a great niece, Shakira Crawford.
Gregory leaves to cherish his memories, three children: Tasavion Butler, Tashara Butler and Tashaneika (De’Ontrai) Butler-Garrison all of Panama City,FL; four sisters: Alecia Boiling of Palatka,FL, Linda Baker, Tasha Baker and Amie (Warness) Register all of Valdosta,GA; four brothers: Kenneth (Brenda) Butler of Fredericksburg,VA, Willie Baker of Lawton,OH, Anthony Baker and Timothy (Willett) Baker of Valdosta,GA; two grandsons: Jeriha Garrison and Tasavion Butler,Jr; a host of nieces and nephews he loved so dearly and his dear and close friend, Mellanie Alford.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, July 16 at the Antioch Cemetery in Valdosta, GA.
Pastor J. Bernard Braswell II will officiate.
