Ms. Harriet Evon Smith was born February 10, 1963 in Uvalda, GA, to Ruby Williams Townsend and the late James Willis Townsend.
After many years of living life her way, Harriet recognized she needed a Savior and surrendered her life to Christ. From that day ‘til death, her motto and mission was “I worked hard for the devil in the streets and now I’m going to work harder for the Lord.” She kept her word and completed her mission. Her daily prayer was, “Dear Lord, I don’t have the power on my own to lead others through difficult situations, but you are all powerful. Give me the courage to help others as I rely on your strength that can’t fail.”
Her family rise up and call her blessed. Thankful to God for sharing His angel with them.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, the Lord whispered to Harriet, “Peace be Thine. You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give you at that day.”
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandmother: Susie Bell Jackson.
