Harris Lee Donaldson

Harris Lee Donaldson, age 57, departed this life on November 17, 2011 at Berrien County Hospital, Nashville, GA.

He was born in Lowndes County to the late Elihue Donaldson and the late Ludell Donaldson.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Education at Fort Valley State College, Fort Valley, GA. Later, he received his Masters in Education from Cambridge College in Massachusetts. He was employed for thirty plus years by Berrien County Board of Education as a teacher and coach at Berrien High School. The beloved son, husband, and father inspired, influenced, and mentored thousands of young people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Vincent Donaldson.

He is survived by a loving and devoted wife: Orlene V. Donaldson; four sons: Harris L. (Lanasha) Donaldson II of Jacksonville, FL, Donald R. (Tanisha) Donaldson of Warner Robins, GA, Phillip and Caleb Harris of Nashville,GA; one daughter: Maranda Harris of Nashville, GA; four grandchildren: Jeremiah, Siyan, Chase and Colbe; eight sisters: Ellis D. Donaldson of Tampa, FL, Geraldine D.(Henry) Manning of Alexandria, VA, Liza M. (Willie) Hundley of Nashville, GA, Yvonne Donaldson of Lake Park, FL, Betty L. Hyndman of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Lillie P. Owens of Jonesboro, GA, Sylvia A. (Theodis) Ratliff of Perry, GA and Carla E. (James) Cooper of Dumfries, VA; one devoted brother: Elihue Donaldson, Jr. of Nashville, GA; two sisters in-law: Mary V. Dicks and Elizabeth Williamson of Lake City, FL; six brothers in-law: Damon, Devon (Kathy), William, David, Dilon and Danyl Dicks all of Lake City, FL and a host of sorrowing family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the House of God Church located at 200 Short Street in Nashville, Tuesday, November 22 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00am from the gymnasium of Berrien County High School.

Burial will follow at the Joe Howell Cemetery.
