Mrs. Helen Moore

H elen Moore was born to Jim and Riner Homer on March 17,1917 in Remerton, GA. She received her education in the Lowndes County School Systems. Accepting Christ into her life at an early age, Mother Helen Moore joined the Riverhill Missionary Baptist Church and continued to serve faithfully until her health failed.
Helen was united in holy matrimony to the late Morris Moore of Cherry Lake, FL. To this union, a set of twins were born, Kenneth and Kendrick. After rendering 35 years of service to the Valdosta State College, Helen retired in 1983.
On December 20, 2010, God called Helen from labor to reward providing her with eternal rest. The Lord blessed us with her presence for 93 years.
Her precious memories and wisdom will forever linger in the hearts of her Son: Kenneth Moore; Grandchildren: Erik, Carlos, Tracy, Celes, Cherre, Eron, Kah’marion and Mattie; Daughter in-law: Wilma Welcome-Moore; a devoted God-son: Roosevelt (Evelyn) Lowther; a very special Friend: Rosa Lee Thomas and a host of sorrowing family, friends and her church family. Helen was preceded in death by her Son: the late Kendrick Moore and two Sisters: the late Ozie Homer and Rachelle Homer.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Moore, age 93, of Valdosta, GA, will be on Sunday December 26, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of Riverhill Missionary Baptist Church, 2884 James Road, Valdosta, GA. Pastor Thomas J. Haynes will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Public viewing will be today (Thursday 12/23) from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow (Friday 12/24) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.godfreyfuneralhome.net.
