Helen Payne

Helen Marie Payne was born August 24,1931 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Recognizing her ability to relate well with people, Helen knew that being a nursing assistant was indeed her calling.

She girded herself with honor and strengthened her ability with patience. She stretched out her hand to the poor and reached out to the needy. She was a giver of herself and considered her own desires last. A heartwarming smile was hers until the Lord called her home to rest.

Helen was preceded in death by her Mother: Annie Mae Jordan, one Son: William Jordan and one Daughter: Pamela Payne Bennett.

She leaves to cherish her memories her Husband: William Payne; six Children: Kina (Willie) Moore, Robert Payne and Tracey Payne of Nashville, TN, Thomasa (Willie) Lester of Naylor, GA, Marcella Payne of Detroit, MI, and Lavida (Carlton) Nelson of Murfreesboro, TN; seventeen Grandchildren; twenty Great-Grandchildren; Son-in-law: Tommy Bennett; four Sisters: Mary Kennedy Jordan, Viola Jordan and Lou Ellen Murry of Nashville, TN and Georgia (Billy) Gooch of Antioch, TN; two Brothers: Bodie Jordan of Nashville, TN and Clarence Jordan of San Jose, CA; Special friends: Debra McEady and Delores Jones Williams and host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The HomeGoing Celebration for Mrs. Payne will be held Saturday, April 9, 1:00pm at the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Riverview Memorial Gardens.
