Hosea Fredrick Paulk

June 19, 1949 — November 1, 2018

Valdosta

The U.S. Army Soldier’s Creed reflects a set of Army Values by which all Soldiers live:     Loyalty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. These principles truly describe the one we honor and remember today, Mr. Hosea Fredrick Paulk.

Hosea Fredrick Paulk was born June 19, 1949, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Florence Paulk and the late Hugh Lester Flucas, Sr. At the young age of 19, Hosea answered the call of duty to his country and enlisted in the United States Army. During his military career, he was decorated with many medals, badges and commendations. After serving for a while, he was later honorably discharged.

Hosea was a man of integrity and no matter the role he played in your life: father, brother, uncle or friend, on his word you could depend. He always considered the needs of others and was very generous, caring and loving. It seemed as though Hosea never had a bad day; he was always happy and bringing cheer to all who knew him. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul. His favorite scripture told of the love he believed the Father had for him: “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

On Thursday, November 1, 2018, Hosea received his final orders and transitioned from labor to reward.

In addition to his parents, Florence Paulk and Hugh Lester Flucas, Sr., he is preceded in death by his grandmother: Adel Paulk; one aunt: Ludell Smith and a brother-in-law: Columbus Washington.

Hosea leaves to mourn his passing while yet remembering precious memories, his daughter: Lita Mitchell of Valdosta, GA; two sisters: Rosa Vorise Washington of Valdosta, GA and Dr. Dorothy J. Lange (Owen) of Lake Mary, FL; an aunt: Patricia Copeland (Leroy) of Augusta, GA; a special niece: April Bruton of Sanford, FL; a special nephew: Columbus Washington III; four special great-nephews: T.J. Huzzie of Sanford, FL, Columbus Washington IV, Khamani Washington and Khamajan Washington, all of Valdosta, GA; and a host of extended family and friends.
