Ivey Steffon Farrior was born March 22, 1960, in Kenansville, NC, to the late Ivey James Farrior and the late Janie Smith - Farrior.
Ivey attended Pinkhill Elementary School from kindergarten to the eighth grade. He continued his education from grades 9th-11th at James Kenan High School later received his GED. He was employed as a forklift driver for over 25 years. Moving from New Jersey to Georgia, Ivey worked several years at Dillards and later became a paraprofessional for Valdosta Middle School.
Ivey, fondly known as Steffon, was a people person who always found the good in everyone and loved sports. Most of all, Steffon was a very family oriented man. He loved the word of God. He would spend hours studying God’s word and was a devoted member of New Life Ministries.
On Friday, June 23, 2017, the Lord called Steffon unto eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four of his siblings: James Farrior, Lindwood Farrior, Janie Carolyn Farrior, and Janie Faye Montgomery.
Ivey Steffon Farrior leaves to cherish his love and memories, his loving and devoted wife of twenty eight years, Debra Farrior; his five children: Kymira Cooper, Darion Farrior, Tammie Pickens (Kevin), Natasha Smith (Orlando), and Bernard Ledbetter (Crystal); 15 grandchildren: Jamysziah, Dez’Meire, Jalill, Curtis, Calvin, Nialah, Zaria, Orande, Aliysha, Nevaeh, Kevin, Shontae, Anastasia, Harmony, and Demiliyah; one great-grandson: Darius; two god-children: Lamont Warren and La’nai Turner; two sisters: Betty Rhodes and Sarah Boone; four brothers-in-law: Phil Rhodes, Alex Boone, Harry Montgomery and Michael Smith; one sister-in-law: Juanita Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. A special thank you to his church family, New Life Ministries, his niece, Tammy Dawkins and to Vivian Brown.
The celebration of life for the late Mr. Ivey Steffon Farrior will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of New Life Ministries.
James Bernard Braswell II is the Senior Pastor and will officiate.
Interment will follow in Pallbearers Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, June 30, in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00am - 8:00pm.
