Mr. Jackie Mathis

Jackie Mathis was born in Lakeland, GA to Mrs. Mercie D. Mathis and the late Mr. Roosevelt Mathis, Sr., April 13, 1955.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandmother: Laura Lee Houston; one niece: Lakisha Mathis; and one nephew: Jason Washington.

He leaves to lament his passing his mother: Mrs. Mercie D. Mathis; three brothers: Roosevelt Mathis, Jr. (Lurice) of New Orleans, LA, Willie Charles Mathis (Denise) and Harold James Goodwine both of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Wilma Joyce Davis of Valdosta, GA; one aunt: Rosetta Mathis of Naylor, GA; nine nieces: Kimberly A. Matchett (Joseph) of Valdosta, GA, Lila Moore of Texas, Kimberly L. Matchett (Benjamin) of Columbus, GA, Leetoria Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Joaquin Goodwine of Valdosta, GA, Danielle Mathis of Valdosta, GA, DeCarlo White (Chester) of Birmingham, AL, Ciairra Washington of New Orleans, LA and Chastity McDowell of New Orleans, LA; seven nephews: Terrance Mathis (Diane) of Tennessee, Dedrick Mathis (Daisy) of Valdosta, GA; Kraighton Davis of Valdosta, GA, Cortez Webb of Colorado, Devonte Goodwine of Valdosta, Ga, Paul Washington II of New Orleans, LA, and Nigel Washington of New Orleans, LA; special caretaker: Charlene McBurrough of Valdosta, GA; and a hosts of cousins and other relatives.

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Jackie Mathis will be held Saturday, November 1,2014 at 11:00am in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Bro. Jackey Moore will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Charles Knight Cemetery.
