James Herman Allen

Mr. James H. Allen was born August 19, 1952, to the late Herman Frazier, Jr. and the late Fannie Lou Frazier in Okeechobee, FL.

James Allen, fondly called "Punkin" was a very energetic person. His laughter was a source of joy. A good time was to be enjoyed when the family’s "dancing machine" hit the floor. His family and friends always looked forward to his witty sayings that was passed down from generation to generation. His family will forever recall two of his words of wisdom: "Don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" and "It’s a heep sees and a few knows."

After living a full life, James Allen was granted eternal rest on April 9, 2018.

In addition to his biological parents, he was preceded in death by his adoptive parents: Bud Esop Allen and Rosa Allen; his wife: Rachel Allen; and two sisters: Ida Queen Ellis and Ivorine Moore.

James leaves to cherish his memories; five children: James Riley (Angela) of Ocilla, GA, Gerald Riley (Michele) of Ocilla, GA, Taurus Allen (Shulonda), Jennifer Allen-Bridges (Antonio) and Travis Allen (Eva), all of Valdosta, GA; six sisters: Verlene Pryor of Okeechobee, FL, Diane Carter of California, Debra Sinclair of Las Vegas, NV, Dorinda Mackey, Annie Mae Major, and Patsy Frazier of Nassau, Bahamas; eight brothers: John Sinclair and Gerald Sinclair, both of Las Vegas, NV, Herman Frazier, Philip Frazier, Harry Frazier, Sidney Frazier, Timothy Frazier and Andrew Frazier, all of Nassau, Bahamas; twenty three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nine sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; one special friend who was like brother: Arthur Wilcox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.


The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. James Herman Allen will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, 2:00 P.M., from the sanctuary of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 5009 GA Hwy 122, Hahira, GA.

Dr. Norman J. Edwards will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday, April 13, 2018, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
